ABSTRACT

In the conclusions, theoretical links are made to the Birmingham School of Cultural Studies and its focus on subculture and class. The broader theoretical positioning of the study is briefly discussed, alongside the range of theoretical concepts and approaches towards class production taken throughout the book. The methods used are then further reflected on in relation to the forms of knowledge produced, contrasting in-depth, sometimes activist involvement with distanced observations and interviews. Finally, recent political twists are discussed and possible areas for future research outlined.
