ABSTRACT
Steven Goldfarb is part of a team of scientists that works on the particle collider at the European Organization for Nuclear Research (CERN) and discovered the Higgs boson. Educators change lives every day, are able to see firsthand the impact of new approaches they employ, and are experienced orators. Educator researchers contribute to life-changing innovations, merge inspiration from varied fields, and can have large-scale impact. Education news coverage influences how policymakers and the public think about educational issues. News shows, where stories revolve around current events and issues, are always looking for important topics to cover. Education is rife with such fodder, but coverage will better serve students if expert perspectives are included in the dialogue. National Public Radio (NPR) is a non-profit syndicator of programs to individual public radio stations around the US. Public radio stations can apply to become members of NPR, but not every show on such a station is produced by NPR.
