ABSTRACT

The next step in the research process, analyzing data, can seem daunting, especially to new researchers. In order to make the analysis stage more manageable, this chapter offers strategies for data analysis. It begins with approaches to organizing data and then moves to ways to use specific tools for analyzing data, such as reading, thematizing, coding, and indexing. Throughout the chapter, readers have the opportunity to explore both specific examples from the projects of other graduate-level researchers as well as prompts designed to help them try out strategies for analyzing their data.
