The authors provide an overview of middle level education in three Pacific contexts: Hawai‘i, American Samoa, and the Republic of the Marshall Islands. After providing background information about the geography, history, and economy in each locale, the authors provide examples of excellent practice in middle level education organized by three themes: nurturing and guiding students; content and processes of curriculum; and, connecting with families, culture and community.
