ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the concepts covered in the preceding chapters of this book. The book resents new theoretical data and methods of perfecting human performance from the systemic perspective derived from it. The systemic-structural activity theory (SSAT) systemic approach implies that any complex sociotechnical system includes two basic subsystems. These are: a goal-directed human activity subsystem, and a technological subsystem. SSAT offers several basic stages of design and redesign of such systems. It includes qualitative descriptive analysis, functional analysis, morphological analysis, and quantitative analysis of human activity. The book considers the key aspects of the relationship of performance and productivity. It aims to the connection of work psychology and economics and the role of computerization in increasing productivity. The book presents a new and advanced approach to the study of human performance from the SSAT perspective and demonstrates application of this approach using extremely complex computer-based and computerized tasks.
