ABSTRACT

130 131The invitation to contribute an autobiographical essay was flattering and rewarding. The challenge of responding, however, is intimidating. What, if anything, in one’s life and career is worth study by others? As suggested by the example of George Strauss (1993), the answer for me likely lies in review of the evolution of my field of study, Human Resources, and not in my own personal evolution. An autobiographical review, however, provides the opportunity to recognize and pay tribute to the many people who influenced my personal as well as professional lives.
