ABSTRACT

This chapter explains some of the key terms relating to strategy and policy and also introduce a wide variety of tools and techniques that can be used by managers to develop and analyse policies. Corporate social responsibility is 'the commitment by organizations to behave ethically and contribute to economic development while improving the quality of life of the workforce and their families as well as the local community and society at large'. strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats analysis is an assessment of the strengths and weaknesses, opportunities, and threats in relation to the internal and environmental factors affecting an organization in order to establish its current condition prior to the preparation of a long-term plan. The Political; Economic; Social; Technological; Legal; and Ecological/Environmental analysis is a tool used to consider the broad environmental factors within the macro-environment that impact on an organization. A scenario is a detailed and plausible view of how the business environment of an organization might develop in the future.
