ABSTRACT

Once you have developed your ideas through your thinking (description, analysis, interpretation, evaluation) and research, you will convey your findings to others. Good thinking deserves to be presented through skillful writing or speaking. Your personal, academic, and professional success will be enhanced by investing effort into mindful, precise presentations of your ideas. Presentations of findings are not uncommon, and most of what we have discussed here is directly applicable to the creation of an oral report as well. Creating a valued and useful product from your analytical work is a difficult task that requires organizing your ideas to communicate your findings clearly and effectively.

Precision and clarity are two important qualities of communication that make your logical case compelling to your audiences. These are achieved in part by making your argument claims clear; arranging warrants and backing in ways your audience understands; writing clearly and correctly; and crediting your sources.
