ABSTRACT

This chapter presents the reliability function is calculated in terms of Laplace transforms, and its sensitivity properties. For the investigation of the system reliability function, the Markovization method is used. In 1976, I. Kovalenko found the necessary and sufficient conditions for the insensitivity of stationary reliability characteristics of redundant renewable systems with exponential lifetime and general repair time distributions of its components to the shape of the latter. The Markovization method was used for heterogeneous double redundant hot-standby renewable reliability system analysis. The time-dependent, stationary, and quasi-stationary probability distributions for the system were calculated. The chapter introduces problem setting and notation. The steady-state probabilities of the system are examined for two types of system restoration after its failure: partial and full repair. Naturally, the asymptotic analysis should be done with respect to some scale parameter. The asymptotic mean lifetime value will be considered as such a parameter.
