ABSTRACT

Peter Hawkins differentiates ‘systemic’ team coaching from other approaches to team coaching and facilitation primarily on the basis that the systemic team coach pays far greater attention to the team as a system that exists within a number of wider systems. Spinning the Systems Wheel can generate any number of questions for inquiring into the impact of Habits, Needs and Mind-sets. The Systems Wheel, a tool intended to be practical and easy to use, while lending itself to ever-more sophisticated practice – whether that practice is team coaching, one-to-one coaching, organisational development or supervision. Most teams and organisations will have a wealth of management information that offers insights into how a team is performing against the several core disciplines. Time, Place and Exchange can be a huge source of inspiration when it comes to helping coaches and their teams better understand themselves and their systems, and when crafting interventions.
