ABSTRACT
Daniel Weger prides himself on being able to recreate period garments, and there are few people who specifically pattern for men. Daniel Weger grew up in North Carolina, the son of two Presbyterian ministers who encouraged his early interest in the arts. Weger recounts that “being able to make her acquaintance and do draping for her was a life goal of mine.” Weger realized he had to use a language with designers that doesn’t have anything to do with the pattern or the techniques. Weger works with a long list of private clients, particularly celebrities such as Stephen Colbert and musician Jon Batiste. For Weger, the biggest challenge has always been time. His career has remained constant over the years due to his flexibility to work in television, music videos, ballet, bridal, alterations at various stores, film, theatre, and opera.
