ABSTRACT
A factor that matters less now than ten or fifteen years ago is what market or regional area you are an actor in. There are also many more types of deliberately different roles (female leads, LGBTQIA characters, disabled roles) being written these days, with the result being that casting directors, writers and directors of film are searching for much more variety not only in types of actors, but even in the range a single actor can play. Diversity is not only a word that can apply to various groups – it actually applies to what you may have on a resume now. There are a variety of social media platforms and the three that seem to be the most productive for young actors are Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. Many actors even have ‘actor’ accounts on these and then their separate personal accounts under a nickname. Actors may often complain about models often being cast in roles.
