ABSTRACT

The path to work becoming union sanctioned, paid and produced is becoming shorter with every successful project that comes to fruition. This chapter discusses specialty auditions in any media. It gives some tips for actors to be successful during specialty auditions. The author provides information on green screen work and green screen practice exercise. Blue screen can be used to add to or take away from the film. Green screen can be almost the opposite to blue screen as roughly, it adds additional images into the film as its primary focus, rather than removing them. A great tip for green or blue screen work is to close the eyes between takes on the set. Motion capture is used in film and in many video games and even in TV series and commercial work. Motion capture auditions are usually heavily physical, or dance and movement based, and casting directors are on the lookout for athletes, gymnasts and actors with dance backgrounds.
