ABSTRACT

Employees can become injured if they are focused only on following the rules that have been put in place and not the actions in implementing those rules. Employees have a better chance of working safely and injury-free if they possess the skills and knowledge needed to discern or anticipate and recognize workplace hazards and associated health risks. Providing hazard recognition training to all employees is the best way to improve safety, and it personalizes safety for the workers to the point that they will become engaged and willing participants in their safety and that of coworkers.
