ABSTRACT

Judging from the evolution of new theatrical forms, it seems that the era of postdramatic theatre is about to stabilise itself as an element in the landscape of genres. As we have seen, the art system needs constant renewal by forms challenging the known horizons. I have chosen to investigate two examples in the fourth wave of modernity. The trend of “immersive theatre”, and the call for a theatre of a “new realism”. As a dramaturgy-ς theory observes the differences between dramaturgies-α – not in order to privilege normatively – but to investigate what kind of values are invoked, we have to compare, and observe how other researchers have observed.
