ABSTRACT

The lintel published here attests to the Christian culture of the Fayoum around a.d. 1000 and belongs to a small group of wooden lintels that display a sculpted cross flanked by Coptic texts on either side. Van der Vliet presents the editio princeps of the text and Adeline Jeudy discusses the decoration of the lintel.
