ABSTRACT

Food represents a great slice of the global economy for demonstrating the pervasive role of nanotechnology in daily life. According to the joint report by the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations (UN), "Nanotechnology promises to revolutionize the whole food chain—from production to processing, storage, and development of innovative materials, products and applications". New developments in nanotechnologies as applied to religious storage, transport, preparation, and service for food create a "traffic jam" at the intersection of science, law, commerce, and theology by using state-of-the-art nanotechnology to detect and remove impurities from food. Nanotechnology has the important health impact of creating "instant clothing" that is so cheap and flexible that it can be purchased and worn with the ease of fast food. Nanosilver and nanogold are used in cosmetics, perfumes, sunscreens, and a wide variety of personal care products, including underarm deodorants for antibacterial protection.
