ABSTRACT
Although there are some italicized stage directions in Shakespeare, onstage action is more often revealed in an actor’s own lines and in the lines of other characters. Unrehearsed actors throw stage directions in their lines clearly to their fellow actors, and listen vigilantly in order to enact the stage directions that are thrown to them by others.
