ABSTRACT

The text gives a fuller account of the basic ideas found in B5 and applies them to an expanded range of charitable activities at play within the institutions of the broader community. Sefer ha-Rimmon (1287) is R. Moses’ most comprehensive exposition on the kabbalistic significance of the commandments. 2 As in B5 , de León makes use of an esoteric lexicon of symbolic correspondences to both reveal and conceal the mystical dynamics of almsgiving. The excerpted passage is terse and extensive and the footnotes provide explanations. Section titles have been added to facilitate comprehension.
