ABSTRACT
This chapter explores the contours of a meaningful and an effective policy response to the current global economic milieu and argues that such a response has to be necessarily based on a thinking that consciously departs from the economic mainstream and is anchored in the human rights discourse, normatively and, perhaps, instrumentally as well.
