ABSTRACT

The literature on social entrepreneurship in sport is still at an embryonic stage and needs further development. There is a vast array of topics that require more analysis in terms of how social entrepreneurship applies in sport. This is due to the richness of the social entrepreneurship field but also the complexity of the sports industry. Thus, it is important that research continues to progress on how social entrepreneurship is different in sport compared to other contexts. The aim of this chapter is to highlight the future research streams needed for social entrepreneurship in sport. This will enable the research gaps to be highlighted that can further cement the field as an important topic of general social entrepreneurship and sport management studies.
