ABSTRACT

The LiveWire Foundation in Britain made an important contribution to the fight against youth unemployment. Through its advisory network, the Foundation helped young entrepreneurs to develop their ideas and work out a business plan. One problem in Hungary – as in many parts of Europe – is that socio-economic development is not at a uniform level throughout the country; in fact significant regional differences can be observed. It is hardly surprising that the GDP-ranking demonstrates a similarity with the ranking on the basis of unemployment and of youth unemployment within that. The regional differences in income have an impact on economic activity and inland revenue, and also affect the life opportunities of the local people and the future of the younger generation. The start-up capital required is one of the most important considerations for young entrepreneurs not only when choosing the legal form of their company, but also when defining the range of activities.
