ABSTRACT

This chapter contains what appears to be the final mention in the Mostyn archive of events surrounding Sister Margaret’s possession. It is an incomplete text, of unknown authorship, opening and finishing mid-sentence, included here because it suggests an on-going interest in these matters, even some 50 years afterwards. The author appears to have read Edmund Bedingfield’s account of the exorcism (‘his Relation of the two sisters’), and some details indicate that this narrative was written by a religious who had known the Mostyn sisters. It shows more knowledge of their possession than any other free-standing account, apart, of course, from Edmund Bedingfield’s own text.
