ABSTRACT

In 1756, Lucio Ferraris Soler of Alessandria, a member of the Observantine branch of the Franciscan Order and a Lector of the Sancta Rota, published his Bib/iotheca canonica juridico-mora/is theo/ogica. In eight, alphabetically arranged volumes, Ferraris brought together canons, papal letters, and conciliar decrees, as well as decisions from cases tried by the Rota and sundry legal opinions. The book is a theoretical and practical legal tour de force.
