ABSTRACT

The Evangelicals had the lowest number of theology graduates entering theological training amongst the groups on this churchmanship dimension. The spouses of Evangelical clergy have significantly stronger expectations of being involved more visibly in the work of the church than other churchmanship groups. The Evangelical curates show their concern for doctrine by their significantly high judgement that a belief in the Virgin Birth and physical resurrection of Jesus is essential for a Christian. The Anti-charismatic clergy are most regular at a daily Eucharist. They are also the most assiduous in attending Deanery Synod or the Ruri-decanal conference in Wales: 74 per cent always or nearly always go. For the Evangelicals the role of preacher is the highest priority and remains so from the beginning of their time in theological training to their third year in ministry.
