ABSTRACT

Patients with leukemias and lymphomas can require urgent dermatologist opinion. The reasons for referral or primary presentation to a dermatologist would range from severe pruritus to skin lesions that could indicate a poor prognosis. This review attempts to classify the types of emergencies occurring in these patients that require immediate attention as malignant hemopathies with extramedullary cutaneous localization, aggressive primary cutaneous lymphomas, cutaneous infections and infestations, severe cutaneous adverse reactions, and paraneoplastic manifestations on the skin. This review briefly describes the clinical presentations, diagnostic clues, and treatment outlines for these conditions.
