ABSTRACT
The applications of lasers and light devices have grown exponentially in the field of dermatology. With increasing applications, the incidence of clinical emergencies arises consequently, and knowledge about this emergency situation becomes essential. The emergency situations in lasers and light-based applications are categorized into medical and nonmedical emergencies. Medical emergencies are usually eye injuries. The nonmedical emergencies include fire accidents and device explosion. A thorough knowledge about the nature, type of injuries, ways to manage, immediate care, and various ways to prevent these emergencies are dealt with in this chapter.
