ABSTRACT

In this chapter the author questions “What will happen to African Theology when the present generation of African theologians passes on?” The author then argues that the seeds of faith, hope, courage, and charity of the pioneers of African Christian Theology like Mugambi and his theology of reconstruction ensure that there is a strong future social change and theology in Africa because Mugambi has demonstrated this in his teaching and publications. This reflection is offered as a tribute to Mugambi but more importantly as an invitation to African theologians and scholars of religion to rethink the social dimensions of theology.
