ABSTRACT

Since a long time, humans relied on nature to provide them with various products to make life more comfortable. But with the passage of time,

the use of plastics and other synthetic materials predominated over natural resources. With growing concerns about the environment, people are looking at natural or biodegradable options. Biotechnology has found its entry into medicine (red) and agriculture (green), and now, a new wave of modern biotechnology is gaining momentum – “white biotechnology” is the application of nature’s toolset to industrial production.
