ABSTRACT

Advances in the field of polymer-based smart materials have allowed the design and adaptation of various structures, by multiscale modeling, engineering, and thermodynamic aspects, for specific applications which satisfy the today’s society’s needs. Furthermore, the rapid expansion from problem-solving to “technology push” has led to achievement of multiperformance and multi-function objectives in a fully integrated system that will have a significant influence on many of the present-day technologies. In exploration of smart materials and new technologies must be taken into account the challenges from research field and knowledge of the fundamental roots of the barriers to implementation. Smart materials have shown promising characteristics and in the same time, with further research and development it will be superior to use smart materials, without fail, in various applications.
