ABSTRACT

This final chapter reviews ideas presented in the individual chapters to consider the implications of the different approaches and case studies in progressing understanding of well-being. Discussion focuses on the nature of the frameworks which are identified by different disciplinary perspectives within each chapter, contexts of investigation and underpinning knowledge streams, to explore different dimensions of well-being and the key principles embedded in their operation. As such it draws out these principles and considers the extent to which ideas are transferable across situations, including the potential synergies of transferring terminologies and methodologies to advance knowledge, develop new theory and identify the key role of the arts, humanities and design disciplines regarding a practical understanding of the wider paradigm surrounding well-being.
