ABSTRACT

By focusing on the morphological structure of ‘past participle agreement,’ this chapter presents the results of a research based on two didactic interventions on grammatical properties acquisition: (a) focus on form, which aims at dealing systematic difficulties during the L2 acquisition and (b) processing instruction, aiming at the alteration of input processing.

The adopted methodology included a pretest of structural exercises, in order to define the knowledge of the phenomenon, the two didactic interventions in two groups, one with focus on form activities and the other with processing instruction, a posttest and a delayed test. The three tests led to the extraction of the final conclusions regarding the efficiency of these linguistic-didactic interventions on the appropriation/acquisition of morphological phenomena in French as a foreign language of Greek students.
