ABSTRACT

In today’s volatile business environment, supply chain (SC) performance measurement (PM) plays an important role in the success of industries. It is proved that efficient PM method is required to measure the performance of whole SC. Over the past two decades, a number of authors have used various methods and techniques for different strategies. However, little literature is available in the field of system dynamics (SD) approach to evaluating the dynamic behavior of SC. Hence, this paper reviews the SC performance modeling using SD approach. Research articles available on Scopus and Institute for Scientific Information (ISI) databases are reviewed. This paper gives a bird’s eye view of SC metrics, taxonomy of research and developments, simulation and modeling techniques of SC and recent research activities. It is observed that the application of SD in integrated SC performance modeling is a fruitful area to do research.
