ABSTRACT

This chapter will introduce you to: meditation, mindfulness, yoga, the emotional freedom technique (EFT or tapping), and acupuncture with the goal of introducing you to adjunctive treatments that may help you traverse your journey to recovery.

These practices have been shown to reduce stress, enhance one’s ability to cope with stress and pain, foster a more positive attitude even while under stress, and promote physical and emotional health.

As with all other treatments, we recommend you discuss these with your treatment providers if you are not already using them in conjunction with your other treatment.
