ABSTRACT
This chapter provides a clear overview of the difference between line management and professional supervision. It outlines what line management and professional supervision are, and the discussion includes the balancing act that comes with having a dual role. The chapter overviews what reporting requirements supervisors can have in the role and what may be expected if staff also have an external supervisor.
