ABSTRACT

The premise of Media Company was to tell the stories and perspectives that we knew were true, but never saw ourselves in. The decisions of this company, in other words, determined its destiny, and will continue to in its bright future. Everything is intersectional, so learning how to engage with systems is critical for companies who want to thrive in changing global ecosystem. Companies have a space in that dialogue, and with purpose they can begin to construct their role in bringing about a future that benefits all their stakeholders. Companies must integrate with communities and cities to empower new ways to give back to these populations. There is an opportunity for brands to listen to issues that exist at the center of people’s lives and communities. Forging a relationship with a minority consumer for venture returns or public relations recovery is not the same as a long-term commitment to the cultural and economic influence of Black and Asian communities.
