ABSTRACT

In the conditions the quality requirements for cold rolled metals have greatly increased, especially as regards the accuracy and flatness of the surface. An indispensable condition for high quality sheet metal is the strict control of deformation modes of rolling, the implementation of the process in strictly defined ranges of the process variables. The instability of the parameters of the rolled strips and of the cold rolling process, as the hot rolling process on in the wide-strip hot-rolling mills, was simulated by the Monte Carlo method, which allows one to set randomly the scatter of these parameters with a given dispersion in accordance with the normal distribution law. The methodology for calculating the parameters of instability of the cold rolling process, taking into account the impact of random factors. The instability of the rolling power and torque in the first rolling stands is caused by significant fluctuations in the initial yield strength and thickness of the strip plate.
