ABSTRACT

Karen Keifer-Boyd argues that the power of socially engaged art is its ability to develop empathy and conviction for justice. Introduced in this chapter is a differential learning strategy catalyzed by an inclusive process for encountering art that facilitates dialogue among people who differ in age, worldviews, and identity. For more than 40 years, the Find Card dialogic strategy has worked well to bridge difference and generate rich dialogue about life, beliefs, concerns, and commitments.
