ABSTRACT
In view of the sustainable development issues facing Africa today, there is an urgent need to develop innovative strategies to combat major challenges, including those related to poverty, inequality and climate change. This chapter presents illustrative case analyses of three organizations championing change in Nigeria, using unique approaches to drive sustainable development in the key areas of food security, financial inclusion and environmental sustainability. The respective models, impacts, successes and challenges of these sustainable development “champions” are highlighted to increase the understanding of their experience and dynamics.
