ABSTRACT

Located on the former site of petroleum transfer station, Olympic Sculpture

Park, which opened in 2007, is the result of an international design competi-

tion sponsored by the Seattle Art Museum and the Trust for Public Land. The

park features pathways and gardens that bridge a major roadway and active

freight-rail lines and lead to the shore of Puget Sound, while mitigating the ef-

fects of more than 20 feet in level change. Public art in the park includes work

by noted sculptors Richard Serra and Claes Oldenburg.
