ABSTRACT

The amount of land area covered by a project is a strong indicator of its loca-

tion within a metropolitan region. Among the projects we studied, the smaller

sites (such as Ramsay and the Pearl District) tend to be denser developments

in or around the urban core that take advantage of access to public infrastructure, such as transit and open-space amenities. Projects

with larger land area (such as Legacy Park and Valencia Town Center) are often regional destinations serving growth beyond the

inner ring of the urban core.
