ABSTRACT
The master planned community of Celebration was conceived by the Disney
Development Corporation and was built adjacent to the Walt Disney World
Resort in 1996. Robert A. M. Stern and Cooper, Robertson & Partners col-
laborated in designing the community’s master plan. The plan consists of a ra-
dial grid intersected by curvilinear arterial roadways that converge on a mixed
use town center and lakefront promenade. Noted architects Michael Graves,
Cesar Pelli, and Philip Johnson designed individual buildings in Celebration.
