ABSTRACT
Third Street Promenade is three blocks long and contains a mix of tourist-oriented shops, apparel stores,
entertainment venues, and restaurants. Upper-level spaces include office, retail, and residential space. The
promenade is closed to vehicular traffic by bollards located at Third Street’s intersections with Wilshire,
Arizona, Colorado, and Broadway. Pedestrians are able to move freely throughout the broad promenade
on sidewalks and median areas, which can be accessed by service vehicles only for loading, street cleaning,
and event setup during off-hours. Service alleys and parking structures are located parallel to Third Street
along Second and Fourth streets.
