ABSTRACT

This chapter represents the concluding discussion of the book. Following summaries of the conceptual themes brought about by the initial research problems, and of the empirical and theoretical findings made by the book’s analysis, the chapter turns to discuss some wider implications of the book’s reconceptualisation of informality and resilience. This concerns, more specifically, what future studies could fruitfully focus on in the quest to achieve a reflexive understanding of resilience and change of/within informal economies, and why this is necessary.
