ABSTRACT
These selected yarn counts are pre-dominantly used by the knitwear industry due to the better coverage of wide range of areal density in circular knitting machines.
Yarn samples of three different count levels were spun through M/s. ABC Spinning Unit, Tirupur such as 20’s Ne, 30’s Ne, 40’s Ne. The three yarn samples were tested for their characteristics such as yarn count (ASTM D1907 –01), yarn strength (Lea Strength Tester) , yarn twist (ASTM D 157893) and yarn evenness (ASTM D1907-01).
