ABSTRACT
Demographics and technology. The theme of this chapter is that time marches on and, no matter what else the nonprofit arena might be doing or focused upon, two inexorable forces will ultimately have an impact upon its fortunes over the next decade or so. These two dynamics are generational succession and advances in technology. Both are already impacting the familiar and comfortable paradigm under which the sector has been operating for at least the last fifty years, and this chapter examines some of the potential impacts these changes may have.
