ABSTRACT
Several aspects of technology in the ancient Near East did not fit neatly within the parameters of the previous chapters, so it seemed appropriate to collect and briefly discuss them in a chapter for misfit subjects. Like some of the topics already discussed, some of these subjects may not seem like “technology”; however, based on our definition of technology, they do function as such because they help to effect change and achieve our goals. Therefore, the discussion in this chapter will include writing, the arts, painting, currency and climate change.
