ABSTRACT
Our daily routines utilize many objects, substances, and products about which we rarely consider the research, development, and technology behind them. Scientists, chemists, engineers, and artists, have invested considerable time, energy, and money into developing items such as wigs, perfume, soap, and make-up and consumers spend billions of dollars on them. Chapter 14 focuses on daily items and personal maintenance and the overlooked technologies that went into producing seemingly unremarkable goods.
