ABSTRACT

Virtually all secondary students will have a phone, and many may bring a tablet to school. Some of the apps and information can be very useful in helping students organize, research and engage in curriculum material. Technology is, however, a problem if its use either disrupts a student’s learning or the class itself. Constant use of mobile phones can also negatively impact on mental health. Many schools will now have their own regulations that need to be made clear to both students and parents. There is evidence that banning mobiles has a positive outcome on attainments (Beland & Murphy, 2015).
