ABSTRACT
Cheating is more likely to happen when there is a strong competitive culture and some individuals are seen as ‘successful’ and others as ‘losers’. Students who fear failure may use all means at their disposal to be ‘a winner’, including cheating in games and tests. This includes breaking the rules to secure an advantage, copying the work of others, or passing something off as your own work when it isn’t.
